National Heart Month

It’s no coincidence that February is National Heart Month and Potato Lover’s Month! Fresh Idaho® potatoes are the only potatoes certified by the American Heart Association as a heart-healthy food. In addition to being fat-, cholesterol-, and sodium-free, potatoes are an excellent source of potassium. In fact, one Idaho® potato has more potassium than a banana! If you’re wondering why potassium is important, it helps manage blood pressure, and an estimated 97% of adults are falling short of the recommended intake of potassium.

To help you maintain a balanced, heart-healthy diet, the Idaho Potato Commission has a collection of recipes that are not only delicious but nutritious, too!
