Boise, IDAHO (March 2017) – The Big Idaho® Potato Truck is back on America’s highways promoting Idaho’s most famous agricultural product, the Idaho® potato. In just six months, the Truck will log 23,000 miles, stop in more than 60 cities, both large and small, and be photographed millions of times by spud lovers across the country. The Truck’s popular “A Big Helping” charitable program will continue to support local non-profits across the country.

For 2017, we’re showcasing spiralizing, a preparation method that gives Idaho® Potatoes a whole new look. Spiralizing turns our top quality potatoes into all natural, single-ingredient noodles that are heart-healthy, gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian-friendly, making them an ideal ingredient for signature appetizers, salads and entrees.

EAGLE, ID (January 18, 2017) -- Following an online “Fully-Loaded Idaho® Potato Cook-off” event, Kenmore® awarded Crystal Schlueter’s unique and easy-to-make Mashed-Up Kimchi Reuben Tater Bombs with Sweet Onion & Gochujang Aioli the grand prize. The poppable hors d'oeuvres balance sweet onion, salty reuben, savory mashed potato filling, and spicy gochujang dipping sauce to create an unforgettable flavor experience.

In November, participants entered their favorite holiday-themed recipes to showcase their love for Idaho® potatoes. Kenmore® selected four winners, including a “Social Spud,” the most liked recipe on social media channels.

Idaho Potato Commission Naming Sponsor of the Premiere Cold-Weather Football Game

EAGLE, ID (January 13, 2017) -- In the highest scoring bowl game of the season and the third highest scoring game in bowl history, the University of Idaho Vandals defeated the Colorado State Rams (61-50) at the 20th Annual Famous Idaho® Potato Bowl. Close to 25,000 die-hard fans braved the cold weather to cheer on the teams, while 1.1 million viewers (an increase of 6% over 2015) watched the game indoors on ESPN.
