American Diabetes Association Licensing

The Idaho Potato Commission is committed to making sure that Idaho® potatoes are not only known as the best brand of potatoes but also healthy for everyone's diet. With certifications from the American Heart Association and, most recently, the American Diabetes Association, shoppers can now easily spot the logos on packaging, knowing they are making a wise and healthy choice for themselves and their families.

Shippers are not required to pay a fee for ADA or AHA certification due to the master agreement with the IPC. Artwork approval for the Heart-Check mark and the ADA’s Better Choices for Life logo is done by the IPC.

Package Compliance Requirements

Packaging compliance requirements can be hard to keep track of. To help, the Idaho Potato Commission has compiled a checklist of what we believe to be the most informative and relevant resources for growers.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has certified Idaho® Potatoes under its Better Choices for Life program. This designation confirms the product meets ADA’s nutrition and health standards for people managing diabetes.

Through IPC’s master licensing agreement, individual shippers and packers do not pay additional certification fees, but they must follow the official ADA usage and packaging guidelines:
