Second to None: Idaho® Potato Lover’s Display Contest Winners Reap Rewards of Top-Notch Secondary Displays
EAGLE, ID, June 12, 2020 – Retailers saw firsthand the benefits of secondary displays as they competed for more than $150,000 in cash and prizes in the Idaho Potato Commission’s 2020 Idaho® Potato Lover’s Display Contest.
IPC marketing manager Jamie Bowen says the commission’s research shows that potato sales increase 22 percent with secondary displays of Idaho® potatoes, without cannibalizing other potato sales. “Promoting Idaho® potatoes alongside our partner products from Hormel® and Fresh Gourmet® makes for an even stronger presentation to produce shoppers,” says Bowen. “Retailers really went all out this year to grab their customers’ attention and show them how versatile potatoes can be for home cooking.”

Island Time: Retailers Make a Splash in 28th Annual Idaho® Potato Lover’s Display Contest Sweepstakes Winner Awarded Hawaiian Resort Getaway for Two
EAGLE, ID, May 22, 2019 – A sea of showstopping displays from coast to coast made for some tough judging in the 2019 Idaho® Potato Lover’s Retail Display Contest, which gave out more than $150,000 in cash and prizes.
EAGLE, ID, December 5, 2018 – One lucky entrant in the Idaho Potato Commission’s 2019 retail display competition will be saying “aloha” to a six-night/seven-day stay at Hawaii’s Royal Lahaina Resort, the grand prize for the annual contest’s sweepstakes drawing.
Overlooking sparkling Kaanapali Beach on the valley isle of Maui, the resort features nightly live Hawaiian entertainment, an oceanfront luau, three swimming pools, 11 tennis courts and more. The winning trip for two will include round trip airfare, six nights/seven days’ ocean view accommodations, room taxes and $2,500 in cash for an approximate total value of $7,400. In the aloha spirit, a second Maui vacation package will be awarded to the sweepstakes winner’s category manager too. Altogether, the 28th annual retail display contest will give out more than $150,000 in cash and prizes.
