Eagle, IDAHO (June 13, 2017) - This week Lamb Weston, a leading supplier of frozen potato and vegetable products, announced the launch of its new Grown In Idaho®, brand of potato products. These are the first ever frozen potato products for retail that are made with 100% real Idaho® potatoes.

“The Idaho Potato Commission was founded more than 80 years ago to promote the “Grown in Idaho®” seal. We are very proud that Lamb Weston recognizes the power of the Idaho® potato brand and has decided to name its entire new line of products after the famous spud,” explained Frank Muir, President and CEO, Idaho Potato Commission (IPC). “Around the world the Idaho® potato is known as a premium quality brand so from a marketing perspective it’s very smart and strategic for Lamb Weston to prominently promote the “Grown in Idaho®’ seal, a symbol millions of consumers already actively look for when purchasing fresh potatoes.”

Grown In Idaho® products will be sold nationwide at most major retail outlets. Each 28-ounce bag is packaged with Grown In Idaho’s® signature 100% real Idaho® potatoes harvested at the peak of freshness. About the Idaho Potato Commission

Established in 1937, the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) is a state agency responsible for promoting and protecting the famous 'Grown in Idaho™' seal, a federally registered certification mark that assures consumers are purchasing genuine, top-quality Idaho® potatoes. Idaho’s growing season of warm days and cool nights, ample mountain-fed irrigation, and rich volcanic soil give Idaho® potatoes their unique texture, taste and dependable performance, which differentiates Idaho® potatoes from potatoes grown in other states.
