Priscilla Willis, the author and chief creative behind She’s Cookin’, has been interested in health and nutrition since her teens and holds a teaching certification in Family & Consumer Sciences. Her focus on heart healthy, low sodium recipes is driven by her husband’s fourteen year struggle with heart disease. Priscilla also holds a BA in Business Administration and Economics from Drury University in Springfield, MO.
Priscilla affectionately refers to her husband as The Don and her daughter as The Young Baker or College Girl. Now that her daughter is in college, Priscilla travels more often with her husband which has given her the opportunity to expand her writing to include her culinary explorations in the U.S. and abroad. She posts twice a week, generally, one recipe and one write-up on a local food event or restaurant. Although she pictures all manner of mouth-watering dishes, her desire is to highlight restaurants that are committed to seasonal, farm-to-table menus and inform readers of heart healthy menu options available at restaurants.
