Chef Desmond Fannin, a native of Southwest Atlanta, Georgia, discovered his passion for cooking at 15 while working at Ryan’s Steakhouse and The International House of Pancakes. After earning an Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts from The Art Institute of Atlanta in 2001, he built a successful career with Sodexo North America, advancing from Line Cook to Director of Culinary Training.

Chef Desmond has represented the U.S. in Paris for the 2007 Rugby World Cup and in London for the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2017 Quality of Life Conference. In 2012, he released his cookbook The Way I ‘Sea’ It, which was relaunched in 2020.

He has also mentored under industry leaders like Chef Donald Wilson and the late Chef Darryl E. Evans. Chef Desmond’s Potato Pie Brûlée was featured in the It All Starts with An Idaho® Potato campaign, earning national visibility in FSR Magazine, Flavor & The Menu, and Nation's Restaurant News. He is a proud father of two and resides east of Atlanta, GA.
