Nothing compares to coming home to a house filled with a medley of aromas from the kitchen. Whether it's turkey roasting in the oven, apple pie cooling on the counter or potatoes baking in the oven, these comfort foods (and smells) somehow magically wipe away our stresses and help us focus on what’s truly important during the holiday season — our friends and family.

We recently conducted a study and learned that 97% of Americans say they have a potato dish at their winter holiday meals like Thanksgiving, Christmas or Hanukkah. And that favorite dish is…you guessed it…mashed potatoes (57%). Baked potatoes came in second (14%) followed by scalloped (12%), au gratin (9%) and potato pancakes (4%).

Whatever potato dishes adorn your holiday table this month, be sure you look for the “Grown in Idaho” seal to make sure you're buying genuine Idaho potatoes. Their consistent texture and performance, not to mention outstanding flavor, ensure you meal turns out perfect every time! Happy Holidays!
