Peggy Arnzen, Shipper
Growing up in Idaho Falls, Peggy spent many fall days on a harvester separating potatoes from anything else crawling up the belt. She made countless trips from the field to cellar, maneuvering a 10-wheeler carrying as many potatoes as it could hold. Potatoes were part of many meals as she raised a family of five. Today her 16 grandchildren keep her busy with sleepovers, sporting events, and school performances.
Peggy began work at Bench Mark Potato in 1995. She fell in love with the industry, growers, employees, customers, and even the competition. She’s helped transform a fledgling company into a well-established business. Accounting, human resources, grower relations, sales, customer relations, general business manager, sorter, bagger, and truck driver could be listed as her job title if there was room enough on a business card. She served on the Idaho Grower Shipper Association board for 6 years, ending as the first chairwoman to ever serve on the board. She is also the first woman to serve on the board of the Idaho Potato Commission.
